The Sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “Sacraments of Christian Initiation,” whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.89 For “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”90 (Catechism #1285)
2019 Confirmation Retreat Options
There are two choices for the Spring Retreat. They can attend either or both.
- The First Choice is the Middle School Retreat on March 8-10th, Friday night-Sunday morning. This Retreat is put on by our Youth Ministry Team and Peer Ministers. This is high-energy and fun packed with great talks and deep spiritual experience. The sponsor may attend, but it is not the focus of this retreat and mandatory. M.S. Retreat Permission Form
- The Second Choice is the Sponsor/Candidate Retreat on Saturday, March 23rd from 1PM to 8:30PM. This is where the Sponsors attend the entire time with the candidate. It is geared to both youth and the sponsors. The sponsors are included in the small groups with their candidates and there will be a little time for the sponsor and candidate to be on their own for discussion questions.
