Sacristans

These indispensable and special individuals work closely with the Pastor and Worship Committee to maintain the sacred dignity of the church proper, the chapel and the sacristies.

Duties include:

• open and close the church for Mass and special liturgies
• set-up for and clean up after each rite
• care for and maintain all liturgical objects
• replace and replenish materials used in the liturgies (bread, wine, candles, charcoal)
• launder altar linens and vestments when necessary
• take an inventory of church liturgical property on a periodic basis
• assist the Presider as he directs to make certain that each rite proceeds in a proper
  and reverent order.
