Catechesis of the Good Shephard (CGS)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-inspired, prayerful environment—called an atrium—where children encounter Jesus through Scripture, the liturgy (including the Mass), and contemplative prayer.

All materials used in the atrium align with the Catechism of the Catholic Church and reflect the liturgical seasons of the Church.

Assumption Parish offers weekly sessions for children ages 3 to 9. Children are divided into groups based on age to ensure developmentally appropriate experiences.

Our catechists are certified by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
