Reconciliation

“The Lord never tires of forgiving. It is we who tire of asking for forgiveness.”

Pope Francis

Confession is a sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ in his love and mercy. It is here that we meet the loving Jesus who offers sinners forgiveness for offenses committed against God and neighbor. At the same time, Confession permits sinners to reconcile with the Church, which also is wounded by our sins.

The peace of mind and soul which this sacrament imparts to us is one for which there is no substitute. It is a peace that flows from a certainty, rather than from an unsure hope, that our sins have been forgiven and that we are right with God. A good Catholic examination of conscience can be great help in making a new start in the life of faith.

Reconciliation is offered every Wednesday immediately following 5:30 p.m. Mass, every Saturday from 4:00-5:00 p.m. or by appointment by contacting Fr. Chuck Schwartz. Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion begin in the First Grade. For the First Reconciliation, parents and teachers prepare children before celebrating their First Eucharist in Second Grade. Contact Cheryl Sokolowski 361-5126 x257.

Lord our God, you call us out of darkness into light, out of self-deception into truth, out of death into life. Send us your Holy Spirit to open our ears to your call. Fill our hearts with courage to be true followers of your Son.
